In observance of their founder, Henry Dunant, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Red Cross (Red Cross) have declared May 8th to be World Red Cross Day. He was born in Geneva on May 8, 1828, and received the Nobel Peace Prize.
On this day, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement defended its values. Another name for World Red Cross Day is World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. It is devoted to those afflicted by starvation, infectious diseases, war, and other natural calamities. Basic amenities are also provided to those who really need them. Several public and private sectors come together on this day and help the needy.
World Red Cross Day History
According to World Red Cross Day history, Following World War I, the Red Cross was viewed as a powerful force for peace, leading the 14th International Conference of the Red Cross to create an international commission to investigate the Red Cross Truce. The Red Cross Truce report was written in 1934, and at the 15th International Conference in Tokyo, its ideas were accepted as being applicable in many parts of the world.
In 1946, the Tokyo proposal was put into action during World War II. The topic of conducting an annual celebration was discussed by the Board of Governors of the "League of the Red Cross Societies (LORCS)" (later renamed the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross Societies). The concept to observe World Red Cross Day annually was approved two years later, on May 8, 1948, the anniversary of Henry Dunant's birth. The founder of the organisation was Henry Dunant. The occasion was officially known as "World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day" in 1984 and this story marked as World Red Cross day history.
