Sister's Day

We all love our siblings but let's all of us agree and come to a conclusion that there is no bond like that of two sisters. They might even be pole opposites, but their love for each other is always UNBOTHERED. This special day is dedicated to your partner in crime and is celebrated on the 4th of August. The beauty of this day is that it was never officially curated but rather a cultural development because its existence has been in many relations and even churches and covenants that believed it to be a worthy bond to have a day dedicated to it for as long as human bonds exist in all their capacity.

Hariyali Teej

This pious day of acceptance and love is celebrated on 7th August every year, It honors the marriage of Maa Parvati and Lord Shiva. According to legend, Maa Parvati spent 107 births as a penance before Lord Shiva accepted her as his consort. Devi Parvati, who also became known as Teej Mata, was able to win him over on her 108th birthday. "Teej" is a colloquial term for the three different Teej festivals: Hartalika Teej 15 days later, Kajari Teej 15 a few days later, and Haryali Teej upon the third day following the first full moon during the Shravana month.

Nag Panchami

One of the festivals of August 2024 is Nag Pachami and has never had a fixed date of celebration but is usually celebrated on the 5th day of teh Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan according to the Hindu calendar and belief system. Hence this year according to the calendar the date of worshipping the Snake God has befallen on 9th August 2024. Lord Shiva's preferred snake deity is worshipped on the day of Nag Panchami. It is thought that there is no need to fear snake bites if the snake god is worshipped on this day according to the correct rituals. Additionally, this worship needs to be performed if the horoscope contains Kaal Sarp Dosh. The snake deity is fed and bathed in milk on this day. On the day of Nag Panchami, it is customary to erect a statue of a snake at the front door of the home. This is thought to eliminate fear and keep snakes out of the house.

World Lion Day

World Lion Day is an important day for our sustainable future. On 10th August every year, we celebrate and aim to protect our wild cats and bring them out of the category of endangered and nearly extinct. The world's largest accredited lion sanctuary, Big Cat Rescue, was founded for the first time in 2013. World Lion Day was started by Dereck and the actress Joubert, a husband and wife team who had a fondness for big cats. To preserve the last remaining wild big cats, they united National Geographic and the Big Cat program when they launched the program in 2013. Lions face real and present threats. Both the expanding acceptance of "trophy hunting" and the encroachment of humans into their ancestor's wildlands pose a threat to them.

International Youth Day

This day of youthfulness and to celebrate the younger generations and our future world handlers is celebrated on 12th August every year. World Organ Donation Day 13

A topic like organ donation that already faces such a negative light is a very important step to take in the current times. Organ Donation is the true form of brotherhood and humanness that a person can ever show by donating their organs to the ones in need. This day is celebrated on 13th August. The first individual to donate an organ was Ronald Lee Herrick. He gave his kidney to his double brother in 1954, and the physician who performed this effective organ transplant procedure was Dr. Joseph Murray. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine later in 1990 in recognition of his contributions to the field of organ transplantation. Regarding organ donation campaigns, various regions of the world address the significance and lack of awareness of organ donation according to their capabilities and circumstances. National Organ Day, observed annually on November 27 in India, was established in 2010 by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) under the auspices of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Raksha Bandhan is one of the festivals that shows the importance of relations in India and is celebrated on 19th August. Rakhi is a traditional Hindu holiday.
